Good finish after a painful start

Sergio García (+5) delivered a 72-stroke card on the third round of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. It was not a good day for the Spaniard on the South course of the Firestone CC and a fight for victory seems to be out of reach.

Even though he played much better from tee to green, Sergio has not managed to beat the course.

The third round of Sergio was painful right from the beginning. He started the day with a bogey and a double bogey where the ball was laying badly in the rough and Sergio made three putts from less than two meters to finish the hole.

But Garcia never threw in the towel and found the strength to finish with two birdies on the 16th and 17th holes.

There is still the fourth round for Sergio to play the first round under par of the week and regain as many positions as possible. He starts to play at 9.45 local time, six more hours in mainland Spain, alongside to Matthew Fitzpatrick.
