Sergio García (even PAR) has made the cut in THE PLAYERS Championship on Friday with a round of 71 strokes. Compared to the first round the Spaniard improved his performance, but he has not yet shown his best game.
Sergio himself acknowledged yesterday after handing the scorecard that he is "a bit overwhelmed by everything that has happened to him this week after the victory in The Masters. Maybe this was not the best course to return after the win in Augusta, as it is very demanding and forces you to have all five senses put into the game," Garcia said.
However, Sergio presented a powerful attack yesterday at the beginning of his round. After ten holes he was three under par for the day, two under par total. But his progression was somewhat offset on the back nine by two three-putt on hole 4 and 7.
If all goes well, Sergio can still get into the fight for the win on Sunday. He needs a great round of golf today on the third day. He will start at 17.10, Spanish peninsular hour alongside Matt Kuchar.
