Sergio leaves Akron with a great final round

Sergio Garcia (+2) said goodbye to the WGC Bridgestone Invitational with his best personal score of the week. The Spaniard closed the third World Championship of the season with a magnificent round of 67 strokes on the South Course of the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

Garcia recorded four birdies and a solitary bogey, a great result on the notoriously tough course. His good performance allowed him to regain ten positions on Sunday and, above all, showed again that he always comes out to play his best. Commitment and professionalism.

Sergio's round was very good, especially the last nine holes. Virtually, he had a good chance for birdie on every hole. If the putter would have become hotter, he could have ended up with an even better result in the final stretch. Beyond the four birdies he made, he had up to five birdie chances of four meters or less.

So, Sergio leaves Akron with a good momentum for this week’s PGA Championship, the last major of the season at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, NC.
