Sergio looks forward to his 10th FedEx Cup

A round number to start the final stretch of the PGA Tour season. This Friday, Sergio Garcia debuts in the FedEx Cup Playoffs with the Dell Technologies Championship, that will be played at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.

It will be his 10th start in this final series since is first appearance in 2007. The fact that he has only missed the 2010 Playoffs underlines his talent and consistency. But more stats prove his high-calibre performance: out of 26 tournaments belonging to the FedEx Cup Playoffs he achieved eleven top 10 finishes including seven top 5. Sensational balance!

In addition, these 26 tournaments Sergio played to date (the Dell Technologies will be the 27th) add up to 103 rounds which is the maximum number* as he has never missed a cut.

With the Dell Technologies Championship, the second Playoff of the FedEx Cup and formerly called the Deutsche Bank Championship, Sergio will have his seventh appearance playing the TPC of Boston. It is a course Sergio especially likes, and the numbers clearly show it: His stroke average of the 24 rounds he has played here is 68.70. Simply spectacular.

Garcia’s best result in the FedEx Cup was in 2008 where he has been fighting hard against final winner Vijay Singh and in the end finished 3rd.

* The third Playoff tournament and The Final do not have a cut. The only round he did not play was at the 2011 Barclays, which was shortened to three rounds due to bad weather.
