Shooting straight to the top in Valderrama

Sergio García kicked off the Andalucía Valderrama Masters with an impressive round of 66 strokes and shares the lead with Joost Luiten. The last time Garcia led a tournament after the first round was in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, and that time he won. It couldn’t have been better for Sergio as he is also hosting the event with the Sergio Garcia Foundation. A dream start into the tournament.

Another highlight of Garcia's round is that for the first time ever he scored birdies on all par 3s of the course. "I don’t remember birdieing all the par threes – four twos. I may have done it with an eagle on a par four, but I don’t think I have ever made four twos on the par threes”, he said after signing the card.
