Sergio is back in action – a return to where it all began on the PGA Tour

Sergio Garcia returned to action on the PGA Tour's Charles Schwab Challenge after a 91-day enforced break from competition due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

With a revised schedule the PGA Tour has returned to the Colonial Country Club in absence of the spectators with very strict health and safety measures and with controls on players and caddies to avoid possible contagion. Here in Colonial, Fort Worth (Texas), was where he has celebrated his first victory in the United States back in 2001. At that time the tournament was called MasterCard Colonial.

Sergio has been working hard over the past three months to get ready for this event. Part of his preparation was the participation in the BMW Indoor European Tour held at Valderrama and played on a Trackman golf simulator from home – and he finished first. However, Sergio is facing a complete new situation – a long phase without competition. Since the suspension of THE PLAYERS he spent 13 weeks without competing. This was the longest pause after his eleven week break in 2007/2008.
