Sergio wins and joins an exclusive club

Sergio García (-12) wins the Andalucia Valderrama Masters, maintaining the lead with which he started the last eleven holes he still had to play on Monday due to inclement weather the days before.

The Spaniard, in the end, has imposed himself with enormous authority with a four-stroke lead over Shane Lowry (-8). However, the Irishman came close to the lead by a single stroke when Sergio bogeyed the 13th hole. But a double bogey of Lowry on 15 and an immediate birdie of Sergio on the 14th were decisive for the final outcome.

With his victory Sergio is obtaining the third consecutive win of this tournament and can show 15 wins on the European Tour. He joins an exclusive club of players with 15 or more tournament wins: Severiano Ballesteros (50), Bernhard Langer (42), Tiger Woods (40), Colin Montgomerie (31), Nick Faldo (30), Ian Woosnam (29), Ernie Els (28), José María Olazábal (23), Lee Westwood (23), Miguel Ángel Jiménez (21), Sam Torrance (21), Mark James (18), Sandy Lyle (18), Thomas Bjorn (15) and last, but not least, Sergio.
