Striking numbers: 20 years as professional and 80 consecutive Majors

Sergio Garcia is experiencing one of the most special weeks of his sports career. Since he turned pro in April 1999 - he made the cut at the Spanish Open back then - Sergio celebrates his 20th anniversary on Tour and with Adidas.

The date is well chosen. It was at the 1999 PGA Championship when Sergio hit his iconic shot from behind the tree at Medinah which marked his breakthrough of his incredible career. To celebrate this Adidas hosted a party in New York with family and friends. But more: Sergio will play his 80th consecutive Major this week! A striking number. Only Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson have managed to play so many Majors in a row throughout history.

"It's a very beautiful figure and it means that we have done some things well. It expresses the consistency of a career and I think that is important,“ he explains.

The stage for so much celebration could not be better. Sergio feels comfortable at Bethpage, the venue of the 2019 PGA Championship this week and a very challenging course that has hosted many PGA Tour events in the past.

In fact, he is the only player in the field who won three top ten here: US Open 2002, US Open 2009 and The Barclays 2012. Positive vibes.
